12-year-old children with comorbidities will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in stage 3

This Thursday, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, announced that 12-year-old children with comorbidities will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in stage 3 of vaccination, which is already underway.

In addition, he said that children older than 12 years who do not present comorbidities will be vaccinated in stage 5 of the National Vaccination Plan.

It should be noted that the vaccination of 12-year-old children will be subject to the emergency authorization issued by Invima for the use of vaccines in this group.

Likewise, Ruiz reported that some autoimmune diseases were added, which will be prioritized during this stage, that is, those people who have conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis and vasculitis, will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Finally, the minister informed that all athletes who attend competitions will be vaccinated, regardless of the stage to which they correspond.
