25 Years After its Release, “Titanic” Back on the Big Screen in a Remastered Version

25 years ago, moviegoers around the world flocked to movie theaters to experience “Titanic,” which would go on to become one of the biggest hits in movie history. For this anniversary, James Cameron’s film is coming out on screens in a remastered version.

Titanic , by James Cameron, is one of the greatest successes in the history of cinema. 25 years ago, the whole world boarded the ocean liner. The film allowed to put in image the mythical shipwreck of 1912 , but also seduced the public thanks to the romantic love story between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. A love story pretext for a nice collection of scenes, all more cult than the other.

One detail, however, bothers fans: the death of Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) at the end of the film. Wasn’t there room for two on this board? “Why is he sinking to the bottom of the ocean? They could both have survived ,” asks a passerby. To get to the bottom of it, tests were even carried out as part of a documentary, in the presence of the director. For James Cameron, the result matters little: only the romantic counts. “It’s in the script. Jack must die ,” asserts the latter.
