In the first federal state, unvaccinated people can be excluded from supermarkets
According to the new Corona rules, the “2G model” applies in Hesse to retail and thus explicitly also to supermarkets, which are allowed to exclude unvaccinated people.
Wiesbaden / Hesse – With the new Corona rules in Hessen Supermarket operators can now also decide to open their shops according to the “2G option model” – that is, only for those who have recovered or are vaccinated.
According to the new resolutions of the Hessian Corona Cabinet, this has been in force for the retail sector since October 12th. Hesse is thus the only federal state with this regulation.
Upon request of the image the Hessian State Chancellery has now confirmed that the “2G option model” also explicitly applies to the food retail sector.
Which means that supermarkets can now also prohibit people who have not been vaccinated or who have not recovered from visiting.
Statistics show: These are the youngest cities in all of Hesse
Despite this regulation, however, the state government does not expect that the model will be used extensively and that unvaccinated people will no longer be able to shop for daily needs.
“We assume that this option will only be used on a daily basis and that everyday businesses will not make use of it,” Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (69, CDU) emphasized last Tuesday when the new Corona rules were presented.
The new regulations apply until November 7th.
