Now the trailer for the new Marvel series has been published. He gives us a first look at the series, which brings Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, to the fore. In the Avengers circle, he usually only played a minor role. Now everything revolves around him, his family and his quarrel as a superhero who has already seen a lot, his hardest and most personal test but must still exist.

We looked at the Hawkeye trailer in detail and wrote down seven points that either disappointed or surprised us.

Good news: Captain America’s legacy lives on as a musical on Broadway

Rogers: The Musical

Hawkeye is set after the events of Avengers 4: Endgame, which means that Steve Rogers aka Captain America has already retired from superheroes at this point. His legacy doesn’t just concern the characters in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The first Avenger is also remembered on Broadway – in the form of Rogers: The Musical. The tickets are likely to be more in demand than Hamilton, provided Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical success exists in the MCU.

Bad news: There is no trace of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova in the Hawkeye trailer

Florence Pugh als Yelena Belova

After her great debut in Black Widow, we were hoping that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova would be back in the Hawkeye trailer. Your casting in the Marvel series has been known for a long time. The Black Widow post-credit scene provided the reason for this: Yelena is put on Hawkeye by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who is supposedly for the Death of her foster sister Natasha responsible is. So far, however, there is no trace of Yelena to be found.

Good news: Hailee Steinfeld is extremely cool as Marvel heroine Kate Bishop

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop

The Hawkeye trailer introduces us to a new Marvel heroine: Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld slips into the role of Kate Bishopwho takes on the Hawkeye identity in the comics and belongs to the Young Avengers. The first impression in the trailer is convincing: Hailee Steinfeld is bursting with coolness and confidently applies as Clint’s successor. Hopefully there will be a team-up in the series where she teams up with Yelena – the new Black Widow and the new Hawkeye unite.

Bad news: The Hawkeye trailer shows far too little of Lucky the Pizza Dog

Lucky the Pizza Dog

In addition to Kate Bishop, the Hawkeye trailer introduces us to other new characters. In several scenes, for example, the tracksuit Mafia rages in the streets. But even more important is the presence of Lucky the Pizza Dog. The Golden Retriever already delighted on numerous set pictures with a fleece level beyond the measurable values. The trailer, on the other hand, is very economical with Clint’s loyal dog. Just like in the case of Yelena, it can be assumed that this will change in the series.

Good news: Hawkeye is a Christmas story set in New York

Christmas in New York

Hawkeye not only accompanies us with its broadcast from the end of November to the end of December, but also makes the cold season the topic: the series is finished under the sign of the magic of Christmas

– refreshing frame for an MCU story, especially with a view to deepening Jeremy Renner’s character. Here superhero identity and family life can be juxtaposed directly. Hawkeye has just been slowly fighting his way through his death when the mess is waiting.

Bad news: Hawkeye looks terrifyingly interchangeable despite the great setting

Kate Bishop and Clint Barton

We get to see an action scene on the ice rink in front of the Rockefeller Center. Otherwise the Hawkeye trailer is waiting with you no memorable pictures on. After WandaVision and Loki rebelled against the bleak MCU wasteland, Hawkeye wades through the usual squishy MCU scenes, which is a huge disappointment in the face of the concept (Christmas in New York). On a visual level, there is still a lot of room for improvement after the first trailer.

Good news: After 10 years of MCU, the most exciting Hawkeye chapter is yet to come

Hawkeye with hearing aid

After ten years, what does the MCU have to say about Hawkeye? A whole lot! In the trailer there are clues that indicate several strokes of fate for the Avenger, who went astray as a ronin. It is noticeable, for example, that Linda Cardellini, who previously played Laura, Clint’s wife, is missing in the trailer. In addition, a hearing aid indicates a tragic storyline from the comics where Hawkeye loses his hearing. There is a lot of potential dormant here that has not yet been exhausted in the MCU.
