All work on the extraction of coal at the mine has been stopped
On the night of Wednesday, September 15, in the Australian city of Emerald (Queensland), a collapse occurred in a coal mine, as a result of which one person died, two were injured, reports the ABC channel.
According to the state police, due to the accident, part of the wall and ceiling of the mine collapsed, three miners were under the rubble. One of them, a 60-year-old man, was seriously injured and died on the spot. Another, a 20-year-old young man, was taken to Rockhampton Hospital with serious injuries. According to doctors, the young man is in serious condition. The second injured miner sustained moderate injuries, he received the necessary assistance at the Emerald hospital, after which he was allowed to go home.
Now all work at the emergency mine has been stopped, law enforcement officers and emergency services are working there. All the circumstances of the incident and the reasons for the collapse are clarified.
