“There is no visit, it’s for mass!”, repeats insistently and with a frown the woman who guards the entrance to the Cathedral of Lisbon from tourists who just want to see the inside of the monument. Not now. Now it’s time for mass on Sunday and only those who go to attend can enter. Inside, there are two rows of benches available, at the furthest point from the altar, all access is closed with stalls.
