The Admiral beat Siberia at home in the last match this season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) before the suspension of the championship due to record cases of infection of team hockey players with coronavirus.
Quarantine record. Why did the KHL still stop the season?
The meeting, which took place on Friday in Vladivostok, ended with a score of 3: 2 (2: 2, 0: 0, 1: 0) in favor of the hosts. Mark Verba (5th minute), Dmitry Sayustov (19) and Artem Gareev (55) scored the goals of the winners. Nick Shor (4) and Alexander Sharov (16) scored against Siberia.
“Admiral” won a fourth victory in a row before the suspension of the season, beating the Siberians for the second time in a row. Before Siberia, the Far East team defeated Ak Bars Kazan (4: 2) and Spartak Moscow (4: 3).
Earlier, the leadership of the KHL decided to suspend the season, starting from January 15, due to a record high number of players with coronavirus.
The new season calendar should be formed after January 23, while the KHL received from the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) the right to hold previously canceled games during the Olympic break.
