Antwerp player group is corona free

The players of Antwerp FC took a PCR test on Thursday in the run-up to Sunday’s competition match against Charleroi. No one tested positive. From the wide framework, one contamination surfaced during the last test round.

At the end of the year, the Great Old still had to deal with a real corona wave. Nine players were infected then, but now the player group is corona-free. Benson Manuel was the only one who did not go on a winter internship due to a corona infection, but he is now training with the group again.

Other teams are worse off. For example, Zulte Waregem – KV Oostende has been postponed due to an outbreak at the home team. KV Mechelen will then ask the Pro League for a postponement because two goalkeepers – including titular Gaëtan Coucke – are infected.
