Azua – Members of the Dominican Republic Army, occupied 243 bales of a vegetable that is presumed to be marijuana and detained two people who were transporting it in a patana.
This, through an authorized operation in this southern town, by Major General Julio Florián Pérez, general commander of the institution.
The military operation deployed at the military checkpoint in Azua, 15, was headed by Colonel Julio Ramírez de la Nueces, director of the ERD’s Intelligence Directorate.
The plant material was detected when it was transported in a red leg, international brand, plate L-426330.
It was driven by a man identified as Juan Fabián Sosa, who was traveling accompanied by Oguis Sisten Segisma.
The arrest was carried out when they were heading in the aforementioned vehicle through the Barahona-Azua section.
After the discovery, the vehicle was escorted and transferred to the General Antonio Duverge Battalion Fortress, where it was verified in the presence of the Attorney General of Azua Arodys Sánchez Bencosme.
The substance controlled by the authorities and the detained persons were handed over to the National Directorate of Drug Control, for the corresponding purposes.
