Artex artists receive the Culture in Revolution recognition

A few days after the 60th anniversary of Palabras a los Intellectuales is commemorated, the historic meeting of our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz with Cuban intellectuals, in which the cultural policy of the Revolution was outlined, the National Union of Cultural Workers (SNTC), distinguished 26 artistic groups from the Clave Cubana and Musicalia agencies of Artex with the Culture in Revolution Diploma.

At the El Tablao Cultural Center, located in the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, in the presence of María Elena Salgado, First Deputy Minister of Culture; Edilsa Vila, member of the National Secretariat of the SNTC and Eladio Marrero, president of Artex, and other management cadres and of the Artex Union Bureau, recognized the work of musicians and cultural personalities who with their work – both cultural and union -, have made it possible for our culture to remain alive in the current epidemiological conditions and for the people to have been able to enjoy their art.

Among those honored are David Blanco, José Luis Cortés and NG la Banda, Adalberto Álvarez and his Orchestra, Alexander Abreu and Havana D´Primera, Paulo FG and his Elite, Mónica Mesa and his Perfect Machine, Emilio Morales and the new friends and Ivette Cepeda and his group Reflection.

In the conclusions, Edilsa Vila also highlighted the work carried out by the Agencia Clave Cuba and Musicalia, and recalled Fidel’s interest, since the early years of the triumph of the Revolution, in the importance of meeting the needs of the people. With certainty, he said, these recognitions will reinforce the commitment of our artists and institutions, who are at the forefront, with the Homeland.
