This Saturday morning (15), coach Vagner Mancini “gained” a headache for the rest of the season, as Grêmio announced an injury to the attacking midfielder, Jhonata Robert. According to the medical department of the Clube Gaúcho, the athlete suffered a ligament injury in his left knee and will be out for at least six months in the Rio de Janeiro team.

Also according to the official statement from the team’s medical department, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder suffered a sprain with rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training last Friday (14), so the athlete will undergo a surgery in the next few days to start the recovery, which must be at least 6 months.

The young player stood out in the final stretch of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, under the command of coach Vagner Mancini. With the Grêmio shirt in 2021, the player played 19 matches and scored on 3 occasions, 2 goals for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and 1 goal for Recopa Gaúcha, according to OGOL.

With the attacking midfielder’s injury and Jean Pyerre almost certain to leave, Grêmio will need to strengthen itself for the 2022 season and, according to information from journalist Bruno Soares, the team will intensify the search for a striker who will play for the sides of the field. Thus, it is possible that in the next few days the board of Grêmio will announce some hiring.
