It is a beautiful, happy and fun parade: the audience excited by the color, the light, the movement and the radiant smiles of those dancing bodies; the music echoing through the theater; paperwork falling from the ceiling, reminding you that it’s Carnival Sunday; and, regardless of what has happened in the previous hour and a half, a happy ending, a conclusion, which is only fitting to take the form of this hope generated by the genuine joy of the marchers. After all, even if only poetic and utopian, a form of resistance.
