The project to enhance the Roman forum of Beja, approved in 2020 by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC), and which would allow visitors access to the most important Roman archaeological find in the south of the country, is still waiting for the municipality to overcome the dispute he maintains with the archaeologist Conceição Lopes, responsible for its rediscovery in 2008.
