The presentation of the exhibition and the critical comments have fallen on María Isabel Martínez Morera, an art historian and university professor of Cuban origin, established in the country for more than 30 years, who when referring to the exhibition tells us the following:

… “That restless spirit, with which Mariojosé gathers his knowledge of drawing, painting, graphic design, illustration, photography, digital tools and fuses, synthesizes and quotes them, has allowed the creation of what can be considered as a species folder of illustrations of the events that affect you every day.

It is significant to note that the title, which the artist has chosen to name the set of these visual stories, finds its accommodation between the anecdotal and, if it exists, the casual. But beyond the anecdote, the important thing is that the idea of using the poem (Carpe-Diem) that invites the daily activation of dreams and living each day as the ultimate meaning of existence, combined with the material sequence of these narratives in the form of a diary, is what gives meaning to the semantic replay that identifies the exhibition: CARPE-ta-DIEM.

The sources from which the artist evidences nourish himself in this new installment are found in his own daily and family environment; in its ability to recover certain moments of universal art with its creators and specific works, many of which have been frequently cited, but in the particular case of Mariojosé swallowed up and brought back to life, seeking to approach other more contemporary languages, such as it could be POP art, comics in its most classic version, the cartoon network and even the NFTs ”…
