Camila Pitanga took advantage of a few days off to discover and revisit tourist attractions in Salvador. The actress and businesswoman went to places like Pelourinho, the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), and also toured the Lower City region this Thursday (17). She also went to the neighborhood of Pirajá, a suburb of the Bahian capital.

Accompanied by her boyfriend, Patrick Pessoa, a professor of philosophy at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), she took a dance class at the Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia (Funceb), attended a Neojiba repair and ended her tour at the famous Cravinho bar. The two took up dating publicly in 2021.

Getting ready to play a character in the movie “Malês”, the actress used stories on Instagram to thank historian Luciana Brito. “Thank you so much, Luciana. It was a beautiful dive to think about Sabina, my character.”

Based on real facts, the film will deal with the Malês revolt, it was the biggest rebellion of enslaved peoples in history. The protest mobilized about 600 Africans, who marched in the streets of Salvador in a demonstration against slavery, in 1835.

The film is directed by the actress’s father, Antônio Pitanga. The director from Bahia, Manoela Dias, also participated in the feature. The cast includes Patrícia Pillar, Rocco Pitanga, Edvana Carvalho and Sulivã Bispo. The film is expected to be released in theaters in November 2023.
