SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS – The Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, revealed that one month after the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategy for Citizen Security “My Safe Country” in this municipality, crime decreased by 52%, and assaults 72.7%.

He said that as a result of the actions taken, the residents of the prioritized sectors have been able to notice the difference between before and after.

He urged the security agencies working on this strategy to be more efficient every day and to continue close to the population with activities that promote their development.

The official praised the effort and integration of community leaders and the rest of the actors that make up the initiative.

He also ordered greater reinforcement in Pueblo Nuevo to quickly obtain similar achievements.

“To give you an example, in this first month that we have here in San Francisco, no homicide has been registered, just as it happened when we arrived at the Cristo Rey sector of the capital,” he said.

He explained that the rounds fell from 11 to three, for a reduction of 72.7.

When referring to the seizures of belongings and thefts, Vásquez Martínez pointed out that in the four sectors intervened, control has been total.

He stressed that, as announced in the presentation of the plan, in these sectors the police presence was reinforced with 100 new agents.
