Cobreloa announced that he will make a formal claim against the referee Fernando Vejar, responsible for two very disputed decisions in the defeat of the orange box against Deportes Iquique, for a new day of the First B Championship.
Gustavo Guerreño was dejected. “They screwed us up twice, why am I going to lie to you”, said the Paraguayan striker from Cobreloa alluding to referee Fernando Véjar and his assistants, of controversial performance in the defeat against Deportes Iquique in the First B tournament.
They were two almost consecutive plays. A goal disallowed by Guerreño for offside and a penalty from Bryan Cortés to Alexander Aravena, both decisions highly criticized by Loínos players and even on television.
“I didn’t see the replay, I think it was enabled. I think the lineman he was wrong. Well, the referees were wrong on two specific plays. The penalty was not either, ours goes with open arms, the referee says he touched it down and it was never seen, “Guerreño complained on TNT Sports.
“It was an important game for us, but there are already several games in which the referees play a trick on us. They screwed us up twice, why am I going to lie to you. Also, the referee was very arrogant and you couldn’t talk to him,” he lamented the former striker from Melipilla.
But Cobreloa will not sit idly by and last night announced that he will file a formal complaint against Véjar, which will surely be personally evaluated by the new head of the ANFP Referees Committee, Argentine Javier Castrilli.
“Everyone saw that they hurt us a lot. If he didn’t charge the offside, we put ourselves 1 to 0. And in the penalty, the same thing,” concluded Guerreño who hopes for better luck for next Saturday, when Cobreloa receives Deportes Copiapó at six final matches.
The orange team remains with 23 points in the penultimate place of the promotion standings, where the Barnechea team remains at the bottom, with 22 units.
