1. One of the constitutional revision projects under discussion in the Assembly of the Republic recommends that the presidential term be extended to seven years, with no possibility of re-election in the seven years following the end of that term. If this constitutional norm was already in force, the current President would have left the Palace of Belém a few days ago. The adoption of such a proposal would lead to Portugal becoming a unique case in this domain.
