Foreigners traveling to the South American country must have a negative PCR test for a maximum of 72 hours before boarding, private medical insurance and a vaccination certificate from their country of origin.
“It is important that people who enter the country must comply with these measures, make a self-report, as well as respect self-care measures,” said the Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza.
In addition, the undersecretary reported that from the same date there will be no transit hotels, noting that people who arrive in the country must be isolated for five days if they have a Mobility Pass – a document obtained certifying complete vaccination – and seven in case of not having the accreditation, always at the declared address.

Similarly, the change in the border measure will also allow Chileans and resident foreigners to leave the country, provided they have a Mobility Pass, except for children and adolescents who can dispense with the document.
Travelers will be able to use the international airports of Iquique and Antofagasta in the north and that of the capital, Santiago.
After a serious second wave that hit the country between March and early June, where 8,000 daily cases were registered at the end of May, the pandemic has stabilized and the authorities have progressively relaxed mobility and capacity restrictions.
This improvement has gone hand in hand with a successful mass vaccination process that today reaches 87.2% of the target population, made up of about 15 million people.
To date, 1.64 million people have contracted covid-19 since the start of the health emergency in March 2020 and the death of more than 37,000 people has been confirmed due to the disease – more than 45,000 considering suspected cases.
In the same vein, it is expected that the favorable epidemiological scenario the authorities lift assess the state of emergency disaster next month and leave behind the curfew currently in force throughout the national territory between 00:00 and 05 : 00 in the morning.
