The Ministry of Health of Córdoba updated the epidemiological situation of week 40 of 2021 due to Covid-19 in the province. In this sense, the main indicators indicate that there is a sustained decrease of 18 consecutive weeks in the number of new cases and deaths, and 16 weeks in relation to hospitalizations for this pathology.

The report indicates that during the period analyzed there is a greater number of cases in the interior of the province with respect to Capital. Meanwhile, a decrease in the case curve is shown as of June of this year.
In relation to deaths, the report shows a decrease in the death curve due to Covid-19. In this sense, June 2021 was the month with the highest percentage, registering 18.86 percent of the total number of deaths. As for the latest records, the month of September of the current year registered 1.6 percent of all deaths.
Another of the main indicators, the percentage of occupancy of critical beds for adults Covid-19, at the end of week 40 had 139 hospitalized people, which represents 3.9 percent of the total beds in the public and private sectors of the Córdoba province.
In week 40, 649 cases that are still active. Of which 345 correspond to the Capital and 304 to the interior. In addition, a percentage of 98.5 percent of people recovered is registered.

The RO -the average number or rate of reproduction of new cases-, the main epidemiological indicator, ended week 40 with 0.68.
One of the relevant figures for specialists is that, currently, in 76 percent of cases, the disease transmission link can be identifiedTherefore, it considers the rate of cases under investigation and community transmission to be low. In this sense, a high percentage of infections are registered between non-work relationships and in social gatherings.
Currently, the fatality rate is 1.35 percent, lower than the national average (2.2 percent).
Situation of the neighborhoods of Córdoba
Regarding the active cases in the neighborhoods of the city of Córdoba, the report indicates that the highest concentration is observed in the Centro neighborhood. While, to date, 22.5 percent of the neighborhoods present active cases.

On the other hand, 22.3 percent of neighborhoods have between 1 and 10 cases of Covid-19, that is, a decrease of 5.4 percent compared to EW 39. This week, neighborhoods with more than 20 active cases were not reported and the neighborhood with the highest number registered a total of 15 active cases.
For Delta, the epidemic curve indicates that, between epidemiological weeks 29 and 40, 241 cases of this variant were reported, including those confirmed by laboratory and by epidemiological link.
Tests and vaccination in Córdoba
During the year 2021, 3,764,852 tests were reported, with a weekly average of 94,121 studies. In the last five weeks that average was 71,031 studies. A sustained increase in the number of tests is observed until EW 22 and a new increase from EW 31.

Regarding vaccination coverage against Covid-19, until epidemiological week 40 a vaccination percentage of 70.2 percent is observed in the population over 3 years with a single dose and 57 percent with two doses.
