The Finnish-Estonian-Russian-German co-production of director Juho Kuosmanen “Coupe number six” (Hytti nro 6) with Yura Borisov was nominated for an Oscar from Finland in the nomination “Best Foreign Language Film”. About it informs RIA News. The film premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and won the main prize.
In terms of plot, the film is based on the novel by the Finnish writer Rosa Liksom, which tells about the journey of the Finnish student Laura on the Moscow-Murmansk train in the nineties. Laura’s heart is broken, all thoughts are focused on the collapse of a love relationship. The miner Lech becomes her companion, who at first frightens her with his rudeness, but as she gets acquainted, the girl begins to understand that appearance and manners are far from the most important thing and can hardly tell anything significant about the person himself.
The main roles were played by Seydi Haarla, Yura Borisov, Dinara Drukarova and Yulia Aug. The producers from the Russian side are Natalia Drozd and Sergey Selyanov.
In Russia, the film will start at the box office on October 28.
