Creating emergency hospitals, a possible solution to congestion in Antioquia?

In Antioquia, the occupancy of ICU beds reached 90% and the emergency services are 100% occupied, so doctors propose that emergency hospitals be created in the department.

Doctors from Antioquia do not completely agree with guidelines for the management of covid in the country in which it is recommended not to go to the emergency room with flu symptoms due to possible omicron.

The Government of Antioquia supported these measures but not to saturate the assistance services, but Abdiel Mateus Herrera, spokesman for the Asmedas COVID-19 Vaccination Oversight, assured that the Association has another position.

According to the spokesperson, patients cannot be denied the possibility of going to the hospital if they think they require care.

So a strategy to decongest services would be to establish emergency hospitals.
