Survivors and relatives of the victims of the Cromañón massacre, where 194 people died and thousands were injured by the fire at the bowling alley in the Once area of Buenos Aires, will carry out this Wednesday a mobilization to the headquarters of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires to claim for the legislative treatment of the comprehensive reparation law.

“The treatment and approval of the law is urgent. The current one is about to expire, our rights do not have any more waiting time,” reported from the group “Cromañón Unit”, which contains different movements of relatives of the victims and survivors of the fire that occurred on December 30, 2004.

The protest is called for 11 am at the headquarters of the Executive, in Uspallata 3150 of the Parque Patricios neighborhood, “to demand that the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, receive us to express the fundamental aspects of our legitimate claim and that they can the basic needs of the survivors and the victims’ families be covered, “said the spokesmen of the sector.

Strictly speaking, in the city of Buenos Aires there is a partial law of comprehensive reparation that was enacted in 2013 and endorsed in 2018 by the Legislature, which established the obligation of the Buenos Aires State to provide comprehensive assistance in treatment matters. medical, mental health and pneumonological controls.

The law also provided for the delivery of a monthly economic subsidy and established the creation of a Monitoring Commission for the application of the program, which must be made up of representatives of the organizations linked to the tragedy, officials of the Executive Power and Buenos Aires legislators. .

As reported to Télam from “Cromañón Unit”, the norm is only fulfilled with respect to the monthly subsidy, while the remaining articles were never regulated by the Buenos Aires State.

For this reason, last May, six movements made up of survivors and family members met to analyze their needs in the face of partial compliance with the norm and the expiration of its validity, which will conclude in December, after which they drafted a bill on the subject that was presented / displayed before the Buenosairean Legislature.

In turn, the Buenos Aires Executive has planned to enter the local Parliament an initiative to extend the current rule.
