CSKA defeated Spartak in the KHL championship - Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The capital’s derby took place in the regular championship of the Kontinental Hockey League – CSKA played against Spartak. CSKA turned out to be more successful and achieved a victory with a score of 1: 0.

The only goal at the end of the first period was scored by Sergei Plotnikov, who converted the majority. Note that for the army, this victory over the “red-white” was the second in the season, before that they beat “Spartak” with a score of 5: 3.

At the post-match press conference, CSKA head coach Sergei Fedorov described the fight as follows:

– Stubborn, good game. Both teams put pressure on, created a lot of chances. I think that the score is not according to the game – there should have been more goals scored. But this is how the game developed. I think we have fulfilled our game plan, especially when it comes to playing without the puck. There were mistakes, there is nowhere without them, but this is a game of mistakes. This hockey is a very fast game. The opponent was very good. Our guys with a victory, the process is underway. We are working on, we want to become not only better, but also more solid: to play out every moment, to properly manage every puck.
