Soon, French champagne will again appear on the shelves of Russian stores: on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, the supply of this wine from France to Russia will resume.
Earlier, the site kp.ru wrote that such a decision was made Champagne Interprofessional Wine Committee, at the same time co-chair of the committee Jean-Marie Barillier told France Presse that French winemakers would respect the new Russian law. In addition, according to him, “it is also about not further disadvantaging Russian customers and consumers as the New Year holidays approach.”
Recall that in early July, the French company Moet Hennessy – one of the largest producers of alcoholic beverages in the world – was the first to announce the suspension of the supply of its champagne to Russia. due to new amendments to the law on state regulation of alcohol turnover. The changes, in particular, allow the use of the term “champagne” only in relation to domestic products made in Russia. And imported alcohol should be referred to as “sparkling wine”.
At the end of August, importers of wine products in Russia were allowed not to change the labeling.
