Disney + to transform Real Steel, the sci-fi movie starring Hugh Jackman, into series

Director Shawn Levy will be back in production.

There was never a sequel to Real Steel. Often mentioned, never materialized, Real Steel 2 will remain in Hollywood drawers. But still, the SF franchise worn by Hugh Jackman will expand … on the small screen. Disney + is currently working on an adaptation of Shawn Levy’s film for Disney +.

The series is still in its early stages of development. No screenwriter is yet attached to the project and nothing is known about the story. Only that the director of the original film, Shawn Levy, will produce through his production company 21 Laps. Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke will also be executive producers through Compari Entertainment.

Real Steel told the story of a former boxing champion in distress since the fighters were replaced by giant robots on the rings of the world. The film brought in $ 300 million worldwide.
