Domingos Soares de Oliveira, current co-CEO of Sociedade Anónima Desportiva (SAD) of Benfica, will no longer carry out his duties at the end of the season, CNN Portugal reported this Wednesday.
Soares de Oliveira saw his position at the Luz club become almost untenable after the accusation by the Public Ministry (MP) in the “Blue Bag” case was made public.
The decision to dismiss Domingos Soares de Oliveira was taken this Wednesday at the meeting of the governing bodies of the “incarnates”, where several elements of the governing bodies of Benfica placed president Rui Costa in the face of the need to clarify the suspicions that fall on the manager.
Soares de Oliveira – together with Luís Filipe Vieira (former president of Benfica), Miguel Moreira (the former financial director and who have already left Luz), Benfica SAD and Benfica Estádio -, was accused of tax fraud and forgery of documents under the “Blue Bag” process.
