The driver of a trailer was trapped in the vehicle’s hardware after a crash between trailers on the BR-116, in the stretch that comprises the city of Vitória da Conquista, southwest of Bahia.
The accident happened on the afternoon of this Saturday (18). According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), one of the carts hit the side of the other, leaving the driver unable to leave the scene.
A ViaBahia team went to the accident site and rescued the driver, who was taken to the Vitória da Conquista General Hospital.
There is no information about the victim’s condition. The driver of the second truck involved in the accident was not injured.
Due to the crash, traffic on the stretch had to be reduced to half a lane. PRF and ViaBahia teams are on site to remove the vehicle and signal the road.
