Dynamo loan from Phil Harres in the regional league promotion! Modica and Fetsch are also right in the middle
From Stefan Bröhl
Germany – There’s a lot going on in the Regionalliga southwest! In the league full of former players from Dynamo Dresden is a promotion hero from 2016 with his club (1. FSV Mainz 05 II) in first place: Giuliano Modica (30)! Only two places behind is with Phil Harres (19) an SGD loan, which is regularly used at SSV Ulm 1846.
However, the 1.93 meter tall storm tank is still having a hard time in its first full men’s season. He made ten appearances in the regional league, but only scored in the 1-0 home win against FC Rot-Weiß Koblenz.
But the attacker, who was loaned to the SSV until June 30, 2023, shines in the Württemberg Cup, where he scores a whopping nine hits in three games.
You shouldn’t expect too much from Harres at this early stage of his career, after all, he should develop calmly in Ulm and mature alongside experienced strikers like Anton Fink (34) and Tobias Rühle (30).
Union Berlin is a role model for Dynamo Dresden!
Harres can certainly learn a few more tricks from such long-time professionals and then implement them well in the regional league, because the level is high in the Southwest relay – especially in the upper third. The former Bundesliga club is in third place there, only three points behind the leaders, but also played one less encounter.
Several teams are still fighting for one promotion place to the 3. League. At the moment, as written, the Mainz team around Modica, who is an experienced defense chief and was on the pitch in eleven of twelve games.
Giuliano Modica at the top, Markus Scholz, Paul Milde and Sinan Tekerci are chasing him!
The excellent tackle is the one who guides the young and wild ones and also helps them with their development. Since the zero five with the central midfielder Stephan Fürstner (34) and striker Simon Brandstetter (31) have two other leaders in the squad, this “burden” is spread over several shoulders.
The squad mix is right, as evidenced by 27 points from twelve games. Modica may return to professional football again – which the competition naturally wants to prevent!
TSV Steinbach is the first pursuer and also has an ex-Dynamo in the squad, but – as was the case before the season – could not prevail: Markus Scholz (33) is only the substitute keeper behind ex-U21 national goalkeeper Eike Bansen (23 ) and has not even been used for the regional league team this season. Paul Milde (26) comes a little more often, but is usually only brought as a joker and is still waiting for his first goal participation.
Dynamo: Big workload, own pressure, but Coach Schmidt relies on Königsdörffer
She could Sinan Tekerci (28) for SV 07 Elversberg with a template on matchday 1, but then sustained an ankle injury and has been out since then. Nevertheless, the Saarlanders are fourth with 23 points and are still within striking distance of the top.
Mathias Fetsch only striker no. 3, Simon Gollnack without use, Hasan Pepic top scorer
Kickers Offenbach and attacker Mathias Fetsch (33) are three points behind.
For example, the former Chemnitzer FC striker Dejan Bozic (28) has currently overtaken him and has already netted five times. Elia Soriano (32, three hits) is now ahead of Fetsch in the pecking order, who with his accumulated experience will certainly still be needed in the long season.
At sixth in the table, Bahlinger SC, Hasan Pepic (28) also kicks another former Dresden player, who is even the top scorer of his team with two goals and two assists.
Unfortunately, Simon “Golle” Gollnack (19) cannot claim that for himself. The SGD home grown man is still waiting for his first competitive game for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II and is currently absent due to illness.
For this, three ex-dynamos are part of the permanent staff at SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. Steven Lewerenz (30) is the top scorer with five goals and four assists, the former Dresden test player David Hummel (19) has netted four times and SGD loaner Jonas Kühn (19) has already appeared eleven times, but most recently only as a joker.
In Koblenz, another self-grown Dynamo has now found room: Osman Atilgan (22) only scored twice in the Rhineland Cup, remained in his other ten missions without a booth and template, therefore stewed twice in a row on the bench in the table sixteenth. Whether he will find his way back to his old form and can help the red-whites decisively in the relegation battle?
