Black Panther 2 still largely dominates the French box office

On the heels of its canon start, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continues to crush the competition in the second week in French cinemas. Ryan Coogler’s film has already attracted 2.4 million viewers, it’s better than the first Black Panther which had recorded 1.9 million admissions to the same stadium in 2018. Knowing that it will remain in theaters until Christmas, it should easily beat its total (3.6 million in 16 weeks), and do much better than the last two episodes of the MCU, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (3.3 million) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2.8 million).

A success that leaves the competition far behind. colors of firethe continuation ofgoodbye up there by and with Clovis Cornillac, ranks second with 188,000 tickets sold, for a total of 490,000, ahead of the biopic Simone: a journey of the centurywhich continues its fine career and should soon cross the 2 million mark, just like black adam. For novelties, it is even more complicated. Stay a bitGad Elmaleh’s autofiction, is the only one to make it into the top 5 with 152,000 preview admissions included. The women of the square and The Almond Trees they just exceed 100,000, but with fewer copies for Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi’s film.
