Failed Batman return: New image shows two DC icons meeting we'll never see

The scrapped Batgirl film has been causing a stir since the beginning of the week. Originally this was supposed to be exclusive to the Streaming service HBO Max developed project will be published later this year. Now Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to put the DC film in the poison closet – even though it was already finished.

As things stand, we will Never see Batgirl, neither in cinemas nor as a stream. This is unfortunate for a number of reasons. Last but not least, the film would have brought together the superheroine embodied by Leslie Grace with Michael Keaton’s Batman. Thanks to director Adil El Arbi, there is now at least one picture of the two.

On his Instagram account, El Arbi, who co-directed the film with Bilall Fallah, has one Behind the scenes of Batgirl divided. You can see the director and the two stars. While Grace wears her Batgirl costume, Keaton shows up in the Batman outfit known from the Tim Burton films.

Snapshots from the shoot showing Keaton’s Batman reached us back in February. The picture attached above will probably be the only official one we’ve ever seen from this crossover be obtained. Keaton’s Batman return is still not completely off the table.

It has been clear for some time that Keaton is also part of the cast of The Flash. The multiverse adventure is set to do for DC what Spider-Man: No Way Home did for Marvel. Keaton’s Batman would thus meet Ben Affleck’s version. The theatrical release is for the June 22, 2023 planned.
