A few years ago, before his starring role in the MCU series Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac had appeared in another Marvel blockbuster — albeit he hard to see behind the costume was. In X-Men: Apocalypse, he played the title role as a blue villain who pushes the good guys to their limits.
While the film was financially successful, it is pretty much flopped with the criticism and is considered one of the worst X-Men movies. In a recent interview, Isaac has now again about the devastating experience spoken during the shoot.
MCU star Oscar Isaac went through hell for X-Men: Apocalypse
In a recent interview with the New York Times the actor has shared about the uncomfortable shooting time of the X-Men movie, for which he had to wear an extremely constricting suit. His descriptions sound a little like one horror experience like a trap from the Saw franchise:
There were these great actors involved that I really wanted to work with, [James] McAvoy and [Michael] Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. Growing up I collected X-Men and I loved Apocalypse, I just found him one crazy weird character.
And then you get there and you’re like, oh my god, I’ve got all these prosthetics on. I’m wearing a suit. I can not move. I can’t see anyone All these actors I’ve wanted to work with – I can’t even see who they are.

In the interview for GQ Isaac spoke in more detail about his in 2018 extremely strenuous shoot of the Marvel Movie:
I had to sit on a specially designed saddle because that’s the only thing I could really sit on, and I was wheeled into a cool tent between takes. And like that, I would just never talk to anyone, and I would just sit and not really move and sweat under the mask and helmet. And then losing weight was the worst because they just had to spend hours scraping it off.
Looking back, Oscar Isaac doesn’t want to distance himself from X-Men: Apocalypse. In the New York Times interview, he says he simply had a better movie and more care in handling his character desired.
