Mother of baby attacked by pit bull calls for pet to be euthanized

Miami, (EFE) .- The mother of a 2-year-old baby who was bitten by a pitbull dog in her home in North Fort Myers (west Florida) asked the authorities to sacrifice the family pet, reported this Friday a local media.

It was the mother who, alerted by her baby’s sudden crying this Thursday, entered the bedroom and discovered the pitbull next to the child and the latter with bite wounds on his face and blood on the floor, the local television channel Wink reported.

After calling the 911 emergency line, the boy was taken by the emergency service to a nearby hospital with serious injuries to his face.

When Lee County Animal Control Service (LCDAS) personnel showed up at the family’s home, the mother voluntarily asked for the animal to be euthanized.

According to the LCAS report, the mother agreed to pay this association $250 for the delivery and euthanasia of the animal, after a 10-day quarantine, the aforementioned media added.
