The new program brings retro shows, “mountain doctor” Hans Sigl as fresh quiz master and Tim Mälzer on an important mission
With a parody of “Back to the Future”, RTL set the mood for its empire of TV, online and print at the German “Screenforce Days” on Wednesday, the meeting place for advertising marketers. The declared goal after inhaling Gruner+ Jahr: “One App, All Media” should combine moving images, music, podcasts, radio, audio books and magazines. This requires content and you spend a lot of money on it. Over a billion goes into content, explained the Co-CEOs of RTL Germany, Matthias Dang and Stephan Schäfer.
Part of the budget goes into the ambitious journalistic realignment across all media genres. In the TV program, however, partly in new editions of classics such as “The 100,000 Mark Show”, “Frei Schnauze” and “RTL Saturday Night” as well as “The Passion”. Also retro: “40 years of super noses”.
The new entertainment formats include the betting show “I bet on you”, “The RTL water games” and “The German Air Balloon Championship”. With “The unbelievably smartest person in the world” Hans Sigl becomes the quiz and talk show host.
In fiction, the originals from the streaming portal RTL+ “Sisi 2”, “Club las Piranjas” and “House of Dreams” are also among the highlights on free TV on RTL.
VOX relies on Tim Mälzer and cooking. This combines very positively in “Zum Schwarzwälder Hirsch – an extraordinary kitchen crew and Tim Mälzer”. Here, 13 people with Down syndrome worked as independently as possible in the service and kitchen areas of a restaurant for a month.
