Pre Obi-Wan series: Ewan McGregor is just happy you don't hate his Star Wars movies anymore

In just a few weeks, Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+. Before that happens, the stars of the new Star Wars series around the world to present the project. The first stop of the press tour was Berlin: on Tuesday and Wednesday, Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen and Co. paid a visit to the capital.

At a photocall, McGregor took the time to share his Star Wars experiences, according to a video that went viral on Twitter. McGregor has starred in all three parts of the prequel trilogy, which at the time very controversial became. The reactions of the fans made him visibly create.

That has since changed, as McGregor explains. The decisive factor is that the voices of the fans are now reaching him, too grew up with the prequels are. At the beginning of the 2000s, they weren’t that loud.

It’s a strange experience making these films. […] These films were not well received. The critics have not written very positively about her. However, what we didn’t hear at the time was from people your age…your generation. Now we meet all the people who really love our films. It’s taken 15 years to hear that. But it is very nice. It changed my relationship with Star Wars.

McGregor goes on to talk about how tricky the shoot was with the heavy use of green and blue screens. Everyone involved put their heart and soul into the creation of the prequels. All the more devastating were the negative reactions for McGregor when the films hit theaters.

In preparation for the Obi-Wan series, he watched the prequels for the first time since they hit theaters. Especially from his reunion with Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith he shows himself very pleased. “This is a phenomenal film”, Christensen agrees. And he’s absolutely right about that.
