Up to ten years in prison for robberies on celebrities

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has demanded prison sentences of up to 10 years against the suspects of a series of violent robberies of YouTuber Nikkie de Jager and football analyst René van der Gijp, among others.

The Public Prosecution Service believes that there is enough evidence that the eight suspects from Rotterdam and Ridderkerk together form a criminal organization. It concerns men between 21 and 33 years old who in varying compositions would be responsible for four robberies and three burglaries in 2020.

The other suspects were sentenced to two, three and 4.5 years in prison. The court will rule on July 8.
