Time and again it has been suggested that Zac Efron would not want to go back to his roots. While the other actors in the popular films have often expressed an interest in another part, Efron even stayed away from the 10th anniversary reunion that Disney was raising. In it, the lead actors spoke about their memories of filming and the phenomenon that has become “High School Musical” in a TV special. The “Baywatch” star only appeared in a short video message.
As Zac Efron announced in an interview, he would now be ready to slip into the role of the singing basketball player Troy Bolton again. A video of his statement is currently going viral on social media. In it, the 34-year-old is asked if he would be interested in a fourth part of the musical films.
When he answers, Zac Efron becomes visibly nostalgic. To the delight of many fans, he replies: “Of course. Seriously, to have the opportunity to go back in any way and work with this team would be so amazing.” As if that weren’t enough, he continues: “Yes, my heart is still there, so that would be incredible, I hope it happens.” Concrete plans on the part of Disney are not yet known.
