The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” is the fifth studio album by iconic David Bowie. This plate is considered one of Bowie’s best albums.
The concept of the album revolves around the story of an alien who becomes a rock star. The 10-track album includes hits like Moonage Daydream, Ziggy Stardust and the remembered Starman.
The album was released on June 16, 1972, and to commemorate 50 years of “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars”. PCarlophone Records released a previously unreleased version of the “Starman” single.
«Starman (Top of the Pops version 2022 Mix)» is the name of special single based on Bowie’s performance in “Top Of The Pops, which is one of the most important pieces of music broadcast on television.
The Top Of The Pops broadcast recording was released on the “Starman” picture disc in 2012.
This reissue has the backing track that was recorded at Trident Studios on June 29, 1972. Plus the choruses recorded especially for Top Of The Pops, which are a unique improvisation of Bowie saying “Hey Brown Cow.”
To that is added the main voice of the album version that was recorded at Trident Studios on February 4 of the same year.
Another novelty is that on June 17, 50 years and one day after the original launch of “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars” in the UK.
Parlophone will reissue the record as a limited edition 50th anniversary half-speed mastered LP. In addition to a disc of images that will have a replica of the promotional poster of the disc.
It should be remembered that “Ziggy Stardust» is considered a revolutionary album in the industry. It also led David Bowie to be known internationally.
