Eligibility for sick pay will be extended by half a year for those who could not receive the treatment needed to recover due to the epidemic, the Ministry of Human Resources (Emmi) said in a statement to MTI on Thursday.
The scope of the government decree extends to those whose expiration of one year’s sickness benefit during an emergency, but who, due to the epidemic, have not, through no fault of their own, received the necessary medical intervention. Eligibility is extended for half a year after the end of the emergency.
In the past, much of the health care, especially non-emergency care, has been suspended to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the community.
According to the government decree published in the Magyar Közlöny, the sickness benefit can be paid fairly, if the above conditions are met, until the end of the sixth month after the end of the emergency, the press department of the Ministry announced.
