Eurovision: Barbara Pravi amused by Emmanuel Macron’s tweet

The singer representing France came close to bringing a victory to her country. France has not won Eurovision for 44 years.

This year with Barbara Pravi and her title “Voila”, France has bet on softness and simplicity to represent its flag during the Eurovision Song Contest. It was ultimately an Italian rock’n’roll group, Maneskin, who took first place. But the singer is not disappointed so far. She declared after her visit: ” I am super happy. The public and the juries voted for me: that’s all that matters. My song was heard. I have no regrets, I did exactly what I wanted to do. All my goals have been achieved ».

The French president seems to share this opinion since on Twitter, he posted: ” Well done and thank you to Barbara Pravi for making this crazy dream come true. This dream of a young girl with black eyes. This crazy dream of making France shine at Eurovision. Tonight, it’s also the crazy dream of being able to vibrate together again, as Europeans ».

Barbara Pravi explained to TV-Leisure that this tweet had touched him a lot: ” It’s a very nice message. Any message that sends me love is an extremely welcome message. The first thing I did was take a screenshot and send a message to my parents, saying “hey guys, the president contacted me!” “. Five years ago, if I had been told that the President was going to write to me, I would have said “oh stop”! ».

Snubbed by Belgium

Barbara Pravi was rewarded with 499 points against the Italians, Maneskin who had 524 points. It is in particular Spain and the Netherlands which rewarded the young singer. On the other hand, the juries of Russia, Poland, Denmark and Belgium, on the other hand, did not award any points to France. The singer is not revengeful and declared after her performance: ” It’s okay, I love Belgium ».
