Farmer Helmut Ediger, 74, and two of his employees were found dead on his property this Monday (22) in the district of San Estanislao, in the department of San Pedro, PY, 180 kilometers from Paranhos. The victims had been missing since this morning, after being approached by kidnappers.

Another employee, 18-year-old Eder Cordeiro Machado, who had also disappeared, was released by the criminals. The place where the bodies were found is in a more remote part of the property’s territory and was indicated to the National Police by the survivor himself.

However, no details were released about the dynamics of the executions and the state in which the victims were found. From there, the victims were taken to the District Hospital of San Estanislao.

In July of this year, Helmut was also taken hostage by criminals who arrived at the farm hooded and heavily armed. At the time, he was tied up with duct tape and left by the side of a road.

The group fled carrying money and the victim’s truck, which was subsequently found incinerated. The suspicion of the Paraguayan police is that one of the groups of guerrillas operating in the border strip is responsible for the previous attack and for the kidnapping of the 4 victims, this Monday. Representatives from the Public Ministry and experts from Asunción were also on the property and are investigating the motivation and dynamics of the kidnapping.
