Evgeny Nifantiev commented on the innovation, according to which the study of financial literacy is introduced into the school curriculum from September 1, 2022. It will be integrated into the lessons of mathematics, geography and social studies.
“It’s great that the school curriculum keeps pace with the times and responds to the current needs of society. It is in childhood that the most important habits are formed, including the correct attitude to money, which affects financial behavior in adulthood, “Nifantyev said.
In his opinion, teaching in the framework of the school curriculum the basics of financial planning will help in the future to avoid a debt trap and prevent the population’s debt burden, which today is one of the most serious problems in Russia.
Natalia Shushlebina, a member of the Moscow Chamber of Tax Consultants, for her part, noted the teaching of financial literacy as a successful global practice that has a positive impact on the well-being of the population.
