A German died in a fire on board a luxury houseboat in South Africa, the authorities said.
Cape Town – In the event of a fire on board a luxury houseboat, in South Africa according to official information, a German citizen died.
This was confirmed by Tebojo Ramatjie, a spokesman for the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), on Monday for the German press agency.
A South African crew member had also died in the fire on Sunday, another South African was still missing.
The boat was reportedly with five German passengers and four crew members on a two-day cruise on Lake Jozini in the eastern province of KwaZulu-Natal.

According to SAMSA, a crew member noticed smoke in the engine compartment on Sunday.
The fire spread quickly due to strong winds and forced passengers and crew to leave the ship despite the high waves.
Further investigations and the search for the missing crew member continued on Monday.
