Now it’s fixed: Emma Raducanu (18) will be playing at the Upper Austria Ladies in Linz from November 6th to 12th. The Briton has been a shooting star in women’s tennis at the latest since her victory at the US Open. The organizers had to tremble for a long time, but after Raducanu failed to qualify for the WTA Finals in Guadalajara (MEX), nothing stands in the way of their participation in Austria.
“I’ve heard a lot about Linz, about the feel-good atmosphere created there for the players and how many legends have already won the title there. I’m really looking forward to coming to Austria and playing in front of the great fans in Linz, ”said Raducanu a few weeks ago – in case the trip to Mexico was canceled.
“Emma in Linz, madness”
“Emma Raducanu is a fascinating personality who not only inspires me with her excellent tennis game,” says tournament director Sandra Reichel happily. “She wins over the audience immediately thanks to her sympathetic demeanor and her radiant smile, and she is very down to earth.”
Tournament ambassador Barbara Schett-Eagle also raves about Raducanu: “Emma in Linz, madness. I like the way she plays, with her triumph at the US Open she sparked a real hype in Great Britain. With Emma, the overall package is right, she is not only top athletic, but also very intelligent and an enchanting appearance. “
