The group diverted 1,000 liters of diesel oil once or twice a week for two months

Three men and a woman were arrested in the act by the SIG (General Investigations Sector) of the Civil Police of Ribas do Rio Pardo, 98 km from the capital, for qualified theft and criminal association.

According to police chief Bruno Santacatharina, the suspects were being investigated because, approximately two months ago, they had been diverting a large amount of fuel from the company where they work.

Two men were truck drivers and another construction worker. The wife of one of them also provided cover for the removal of diesel without authorization from the owners.

This Thursday (13) the SIG team received several anonymous reports that the suspects would once again use the company’s truck to divert fuel, so they managed to intercept the truck, which was outside the permitted perimeter. Two men were approached and confessed to the theft. They received a voice of arrest.

The other man and woman, who are married, were driving around the police unit where the accomplices were, the police noticed and chased the two. They also received a voice of arrest for aggravated theft and criminal association.

At the police station, after hearing witnesses, it was concluded that the group had made approximately R$100,000 in profit in just two months. Supposedly diverting a thousand liters of fuel once or twice a week.

In the truck that was driven at the time of the act, the Civil Police managed to recover around R$ 5 thousand in liters of diesel oil and 80 liters of lubricating oil, before the products could be sold illegally.
