Gabby Petito's fiancé shot himself in the head

The fiancée of young Gabby Petito, who was considered a “person of interest” in the investigation into her murder, committed suicide with a bullet in the head, according to his family lawyer.

The remains of Brian Londry were found Oct. 20 in a Florida nature reserve.

The 23-year-old had refused to answer the questions of the police about Petito’s disappearance during a trip they made together and then he also disappeared. Petito was found dead Sept. 19 near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. According to the medical examiner, her killer strangled her.

“Chris and Roberta Londri were informed that the cause of death (of their son) was a bullet wound to the head and that the circumstances of the death lead to suicide,” said lawyer Steven Bertolino. His parents “are still mourning the loss of their son and hope that these conclusions will help the two families turn the page,” he added.

The case of Gabi Petito caused a great deal of interest in the media and public opinion in the USA, while various theories were expressed on social networking sites about her death and the possible involvement of her fiancé. Before Londry was found dead, many claimed to have been “seen” all over America.

Londry and Petito left New York in July to travel to the United States in a van, often uploading photos and videos of the areas they visited. The young man returned earlier and alone, on September 1, while Petito’s parents had not heard from her since the end of August. A video released in September in Utah has raised concerns about Gabby’s fate. “Sometimes he gets angry,” Londry told police officers who had been called in to intervene in a “family dispute,” while Gabby Petito was seen crying in a car.
