Gabriel Pereira scored his second goal as a professional for Corinthians tonight, and gave Timão the victory over Fluminense
This Wednesday night was special for Gabriel Pereira, the player scored his second goal as a professional in the Corinthians against Fluminense, and gave another three points for Timão to continue in the search for the G-4 and a direct spot for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores.
The first goal came in the game against Atlético-GO, in Goiânia, also at the Brazilian Nationals, but had no fans. The second had a special flavor, as Gabriel can celebrate with Fiel at Neo Química Arena. The boy shone in the match where the main players didn’t do so well.
“I am very happy to be able to score my first goal in front of the crowd. Now it’s about continuing to work focused because we have an important match against São Paulo this weekend. Corinthians is a great team, we always think we are better positioned, preferably winning titles,” he said in an interview after the match.
Gabriel Pereira played his eighth consecutive match as the starting lineup for the team commanded by Sylvinho. His record is good, there are three wins, four draws and one loss in that sequence.
With the victory, Corinthians reached 40 points and is in sixth place. Timão touched rival Palmeiras, who has the same score, however, has one more victory.
