Axel Grell worked for Sennheiser for 30 years and designed headphones such as the HD 650 or Orpheus. Now he started offering headphones under his own name. The first are the True Wireless Grell WTS1 headphones. So what do you get for an interesting 199 Euros (roughly 5,000 CZK)?
The headphones are equipped with diameter converters 10,1 mm, the deviation should be within a tolerance of + – 1 dB. The specified frequency range is 6 Hz to 22,000 Hz. The individual sound profile can then be fine-tuned in the SoundID application. It takes care of quality sound transmission Bluetooth 5.2 a Qualcomm 5141 chipset. All codecs are supported, ie – SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX adaptive, LHDC.
Of course there is active noise suppression and noise reduction, headphones are water resistant according to IPX4, touch control. The endurance on one charge with active ANC is 6 hours + another full four will provide the case, so in total it is 34 hours. If you turn off the noise cancellation, the endurance should be 8 hours and a total of 45 hours. Charging is both wireless and via USB-C.
According to Axel Grell, he tries to offer the best sound experience for a given price, the truth is that the complete range of codecs is unique to TWS headphones. It is possible that this will be a model that will satisfy demanding listeners, while the price is favorable for the offered parameters.
