Backcourt player Nikola Bilyk from THW Kiel is the captain and star of the Austrian national handball team – and is back in the team after a long injury break. A man with a special vita.

Stuttgart – Nikola Bilyk experienced the EM 2010 in his own country at the age of 13 as a floor wiper. Almost exactly ten years later, he no longer scrubbed the floor – by then he was already the star of the Austrian national handball team at the next home European Championships, which Austria organized together with Sweden and Norway. With eighth place, Bilyk and his team achieved the best result in the history of Austrian men’s handball in 2020.
