Colombian outfielder Harold Ramírez joined the Chicago Cubs from the Cleveland Guardians (formerly Indians) in exchange for cash, both Major League Baseball clubs announced.

The 27-year-old Ramirez made 99 games for Cleveland last season, which finished with a .268 average with 21 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 41 RBIs.

The Colombian was claimed by Cleveland from the Miami Marlins’ Waivers list on February 24, and the former Indians later put him up for assignment on November 19.

Ramírez, a native of Cartagena, made his major league debut with the Marlins in 2019.

In parts of three seasons with Miami and Cleveland, the slugger is hitting .271 in 221 games with 41 doubles, four triples, 18 homers and 92 RBIs.

The Colombian has played 111 games in left field, 91 in right and 47 in center.

Signed in 2011 by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Ramirez won the Eastern League batting title in 2018 with a .320 average with New Hampshire in Double-A. / COLPRENSA
